About Piggy and Cat

We like to eat and try out different cuisines, but we are not professional food tasters and we do not possess knowledge about serving food nor we are experts in catering industry.
Our logo was chosen carefully—a leg of a piggy and cat.

Pomodoro Café Pizzeria

January

Pomodoro claims it offers extraordinary experience to its guests. Well, that depends on how ordinary your own taste is!

Piggy and Cat dined there several times before the official visit, so our hopes were high in regards to how our company will react to Pomodoro’s personnel and cuisine. Since we are not so neutral in the case of this pizzeria, we invited a couple of our dear friends to join us.

Friday night—reservations set for six people—everything just had to be perfect, until the waiter came and threw the first pizza right on the table, from a 40cm height. That was funny, but the waiter didn’t seem to share the amusement with us at all :)

Aside from that minor gaf, here’s what was on our menu: Pizza di Casanova, Pizza Quattro Carni, Pesto Genovese and Insalata Garbatella. Four of us enjoyed in Casanova and Quattro Carni pizzas. Quatro Carni offers several meat delicacies: regular and smoked ham, prosciutto and spicy sausages. Add mozzarella and tomato sauce along with delicious pizza dough and you get one great Quatro Carni. The only suggestion our friends had about this meal is that it was a bit lank. On the other hand, Pizza Casanova was a completely different thing. Having only few ingredients, boletus, button mushrooms, mozzarella, parmesan and truffle oil, this pizza was simply sensational.

Insalata Garbatella with smoked trout, mushrooms, olives and seasonal veggies, was a great meal for two, so Marija had to share it with her boyfriend who ate the whole Quatro Carni pizza. He’s quite a gourmand, you know. Pesto Genovese, a subtle basil pesto sauce with tomato and olives was Cat’s choice for the evening and described it as an ordinary meal that was just enough for one, not that hungry person.

Lastly, a dessert feast. Ljubica enjoyed in a freshly made, hot sufflé, while the others took canolli, Piggy’s recommendation. Even if you decide to try out their cheese cake, you won’t regret it, because in case of Pomodoro, the last thing you want to miss are desserts.
