Zapata Ciudad

December

Mexican food represents quite a challenge for each person who claims to love spicy food. We both love it, and we had company for the night, our dear friend Aleksandra. We got a table in Zapata Ciudad restaurant and we started the night with a couple of glasses of parky white wine. Cat was enjoying orange juice as always.

Important tip: when in a Mexican restaurant don’t you ever skip entradas, crispy nachos with several different salsas: guacamole, cheddar and salsa picante. We were that lucky to get the nachos while they were still hot!

For the main course, Cat ate Burrito Zapata, spicy meat mix, with lettuce, pico de gallo, cheese and roasted potatoes, while Piggy had Carne Asada a La Tampiquena, grilled beef in spicy sauce, guacamole, beans, and tortillas filled with cheese. Aleksandra’s favourite Pavo en salsa de avellans, was the dish of the evening and it consisted of turkey in hazelnuts sauce, salad and again, tortillas filled with cheese.

Portions are quite big, for girls that is, and we consider them to be just enough for ambitious eaters. Along side with nachos, never miss their homemade potatoes, it tastes like heaven. We must point out that the only downside to Ciudad is that it doesn’t have a non-smoking area.
